This tutorial was translated with PSPX, PSPX2, PSPX3, but it can also be made using other versions of PSP.
Since version PSP X4, Image>Mirror was replaced with Image>Flip Horizontal,
and Image>Flip with Image>Flip Vertical, there are some variables.
In versions X5 and X6, the functions have been improved by making available the Objects menu.
In the latest version X7 command Image>Mirror and Image>Flip returned, but with new differences.

In the newest versions of PSP, you don't find the foreground/background gradient (Corel_06_029).
You can use the gradients of the older versions.
The Gradient of CorelX here

1. Open a new transparent image 800 x 600 pixels.

Choose 2 colors from your tube.
For me: foreground color #9ab0c3,
background color #6683a4.

Set your foreground color to a Foreground/Background Gradient, style Linear.

Flood Fill the transparent image with your Gradient.

Layers>New Raster Layer.
Selections>Select All.

Open your background tube wintertree

Edit>Copy.
Go back to your work and go to Edit>Paste into Selection.
Layers>Merge>Merge Down.

Keep selected.

2. Layers>New Raster Layer.

Open fenster@ILR

Edit>Copy.
Go back to your work and go to Edit>Paste into Selection.
Keep always selected.

Layers>New Raster Layer.

Open gardine

Edit>Copy.
Go back to your work and go to Edit>Paste into Selection.
Selections>Select None.

K key to activate your Pick Tool
and, using the left and right central nodes,
spread the tube so that it covers the entire window

Effects>Plugins>Xero - Improver, click on Landscape and ok.

Activate the layer of the window and repeat the Effect Improver.

On this layer: Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow.

Activate again the layer of the curtain and repeat the Drop Shadow Effect.

3. Activate the layer Raster 1.

Image>Resize, 600 x 450 pixels, resize all layers checked.

Image>Canvas Size - 800 x 570 pixels

Again Image>Canvas Size - 800 x 600 pixels

The layer Raster 1 is always active.

Layers>New Raster Layer.
Layers>Arrange>Send to Bottom.

Flood Fill the layer with your Gradient.

Effects>Texture Effects>Texture - select a texture at your choice
I chose the texture Hatch fine ou Corel_15_021

4. Activate your top layer.

Open your tube, for me MMDesignz_Si257229

Edit>Copy.
Go back to your work and go to Edit>Paste as new layer.
Image>Resize, to 80%, resize all layers not checked.
Place rightly the tube at the bottom.

Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow, same settings.

5. Layers>New Raster Layer.
Selections>Select All.
Flood Fill the selection with your background color.

Selections>Modify>Contract - 5 pixels.

Change the settings of your Gradient.

Flood Fill the selection with your Gradient.

Selections>Modify>Contract - 3 pixels.
Flood Fill with your background color.

Selections>Modify>Contract - 5 pixels.

Effects>3D Effects>Cutout.

Selections>Invert.

Effects>Plugins>Graphics Plus - Cross Shadow, default settings.

Selections>Select None.

6. Sign your work on a new layer.

Check your work and move the tubes, if you don't like something, there is still time to do it.
Before continuing, I advise you - as a precaution - to save your work in pspimage format.
That way, if something goes wrong, it won't be lost.
The preparation of the animation will be quinte long,
I recommend you to have a cup of coffee.

7. Preparation of the animation.

Close the 5 top layers, and you'll only have the background layer and the background tube layer open.

Activate the central image layer, Raster 1.

Selections>Select All.
Selections>Float.
Selections>Defloat.

Layers>New Raster Layer
and take advantage of the window to immediately rename the layer snow 1.

Open the tube Schnee

Activate the layer "Schnee 1".
Edit>Copy.
Go back to your work and go to Edit>Paste into Selection.
Close this layer.

Layers>New Raster Layer - and rename the layer snow 2

Activate again the tube "Schnee"
Activate the layer "Schnee 2" and go to Edit>Copy.
Go back to your work and go to Edit>Paste into Selection.
Close the layer.

Layers>New Raster Layer - and rename the layer "snow 3".

Activate the tube "Schnee", activate the layer "schnee 3" and go to Edit>Copy.
Go back to your work and go to Edit>Paste into selection.
Close the layer.

And so on up to layer "snow 10".

When you have finished: Selections>Select None.

All the layers "snow" are closed.

Now you will need to insert the skater into the image.

Activate the middle image layer again, Raster 1.

Open the tube ice

Activate the layer "ice 1" and go to Edit>Copy.
Go back to your work and go to Edit>Paste as new layer.
Move the tube to the right.

Open the layers of the window, the curtain and the tube,
and should have this

Rename this layer "dancer".

Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow, same settings.

8. Close again the layers of the window, the curtain and the tube,
and stai on the layer "dancer".

Layers>Duplicate, and move a little further to the left.

Again Layers>Duplicate, and move it a little further to the left.
Repeat until you have 6 calques of this tube.

To make sure you line up the dancer's level perfectly,
you can use the Pick Tool
and check the Y position, which must always be the same for all levels of the dancer.

My first layer

You can also use the keyboard arrows to align the duplicates correctly

Activate again the tube ice.
Activate the layer ice 2 and go to Edit>Copy.
Go back to your work and go to Edit>Paste as new layer.
Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow, same settings.

Move the tube a little further to the left.

For this dancer the Y Position is slightly different.

Layers>Duplicate and move the tube a little further to the left.

to align the tubes I used the left arrow of the keyboard

Layers>Duplicate and move again a little further to the left.

Repeat until you have 8 layers of this tube
(the Y position will depend on your previous movements).

Activate again the tube "ice".
Activate the layer "ice 1" and go to Edit>Copy.
go back to your work and go to Edit>Paste as new layer.
Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow, same settings.

Move the tube a bit to the left of the previous dancer.
This tube should be the same Y Position of the first 6 dancers layers
(the X Position depend on the previous movements)

Layers>Duplicate - 2 times
and you should have 17 dancers arranged pretty much like the esemple.

Now you will have to merge the layers to form the animation.

Activate your bottom layer,
close the dancers layers and of the layers "snow" leave only the layer "snow 1" visible.

9. Edit>Copy Special>Copy Merged.
Open Animation Shop and go to Edit>Paste>Paste as new animation.

Go back to PSP.
close "snow 1" and open "neige 2".
Edit>Copy Special>Copy Merged.
In Animation Shop: Edit>Paste>Paste after the current frame.

Go back to PSP.
close "snow 2" and open "neige 3".
Edit>Copy Special>Copy Merged.
In Animation Shop: Edit>Paste>Paste after the current frame.

In PSP: close "snow 3".
Open "snow 4" and "dancer 1".

In Animation Shop: Edit>Paste>Paste after the current frame.

In PSP: close "snow 4 and "dancer 1".
Open "neige 5" and "dancer 2".
Edit>Copy Special>Copy Merged.
In Animation Shop: Edit>Paste>Paste after the current frame.

And so on ... until the end: this is the sequence

close "snow 5" and "dancer 2" - open"snow 6" and "dancer 3".

close "snow 10" and "dancer 7" - open"snow 1" and "dancer 8".
close "snow 1" and "dancer 8" - open"snow 2" and "dancer 9".
close "snow 2" and "dancer 9" - open"snow 3" and "dancer 10".
close "snow 3" and "dancer 10" - open"snow 4" and "dancer 11".
close "snow 4" and "dancer 11" - open"snow 5" and "dancer 12".
close "snow 5" and "dancer 12" - open"snow 6" and "dancer 13".
